The number of ADP jobs in the United States in April was 192,000, the largest increase since July 2023. It is expected to be 175,000, compared with the previous value of 184,000.
Amazon rose 3.5%, Q1 net sales increased 12.5% to US$143.31 billion, and adjusted earnings per share increased 216% year-on-year to US$0.98, both exceeding expectations.
AMD fell 7.4%, Q1 revenue and adjusted earnings per share were slightly higher than expectations, and MI300 series chip revenue guidance was about US$4 billion, far behind rival Nvidia.
Starbucks fell nearly 14%, fiscal second-quarter revenue fell 1.8% year-on-year to US$8.563 billion, less than expected, and same-store sales fell 4%.
